Visionary Collaboration: Bicom Inc.'s Inception in 2003

In 2003, Bicom Inc. combined visionaries in Product Development, Markets & Economics and Software Development to identify opportunities in both the world of communications and softwares that could be assembled to meet these opportunities.

Ever Evolving Communication Technologies

Already communications had moved through many stages since Alexander Graham Bell first invented the Telephone. Seemingly every twenty years the Industry had come to its next series of conclusions only to be reborn seemingly like a Phoenix from the ashes.

VoIP’s Journey from Proposal to Global Adoption

In reality, new technologies take many decades to develop first in the theoretical sphere, then prototypes through early adoption before being in the right place for full commercial exploitation. VoIP was first proposed in 1966, but had no existence until the 1970s and no network delivery until 2001. It was clear however that the entire Industry across the entire world would need to follow. Today, almost no major country is still supporting Bell’s twisted pair that he invented in 1881.

Bicom Inc.’s Software Pioneering: Assembly Process

Bicom Inc. saw the opportunity on the horizon and among the first softwares identified were: SiteManager, PBXware, Asterisk, GentooBicom Inc. assembled these through a unique and patentable process called, “The Bicom Assembly Process”.

PBXware: Revolutionizing Telephony with Open Standards

With PBXware, Bicom Inc. became the first company in the world to release a Turnkey Open Standards Telephony Platform. Until this time vendors would lock down their systems with their hardwares. PBXware was agnostic. Today, almost all VoIP offerings from Cisco to Avaya and RingCentral to 8×8 have followed.

Global Collaboration in Development

As such, the products that Bicom Inc. licences come from the works of about 600-1000 full-time developers around the world with many more individuals contributing to the codes.
The Island of Anguilla was chosen as the ideal location. Located in the Western Hemisphere, near the largest software markets of North America and yet with the foundation of English Common Law, the Island has always been a centre of the passing winds of commerce and the infrastructure needed to support this.

Communication Trends: Adding Value and Features Over Time

Another foreseen trend with communications was the inevitable continuous addition of value and features to communications. Centexes from the 1960s and Unified Communications from the 1990s, but VoIP had the potential for far more. The trends from transport to OTT (Over the Top) Services to drive productivity were going to touch individuals and how they interacted with each other ever more carefully. During the 1990s Amazon was defining clearly the need to use data, big data, to see the most efficient ways forward. This was happening in the foreground of another trend, Artificial Intelligence.

AI’s Integration: From Turing to Commercial Application

AI had its inception in the work of Alan Turing during the Second World War. Its success has seen several hype cycles followed by winters of funding. By the 1990s it was returning to mathematics but expanding into economics and by 2002 the currency of “Artificial Intelligence,” was beginning to be created. Anguilla created its TLD .ai in 1995. There was already increasing use of countries’ domain names for commercial purposes. From Italy, .it for Information Technology (IT), from Christmas Island .cx for Customer Experience (CX) and from Columbia .co for Company (Co).

Bicom Inc.’s Seized the Momentum: Growth and Team Enhancement

Just as with the creation of the world’s first Open Standards Turnkey Telephony Systems, Bicom Inc. foresaw the potential in Anguilla to be at the centre of larger trends. Today, hundreds of thousands of tech companies consider Anguilla as one critical part of their promoting Artificial Intelligence including AI at Meta, Google AI and Artificial Intelligence Solutions | Microsoft AI. The country continues to invest heavily in supporting commercial infrastructure for this purpose and the benefit of the world.

The Innovation Continues

In 2019, yet more geniuses joined our team to improve the overseeing of the Bicom Assembly Process that takes place on the Island and continues to deliver the very best combined offers licensed from our Industrial Equipment on the Island of Anguilla. More products are now clearly identified: gloCOM, SERVERware, sipPROT, SWITCHware to name a few as Contact Centre have become ever more omni-chanelled in nature.

The potential to take these software further though rests on the self-learning that only AI can open. The company’s Data Centre continues to be invested in and for more information on the products distributed please see Bicom Systems – Advanced Business Communication Technology; and for more about upcoming Artificial Intelligence programs, please see our AI page.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence may have started in the purest realms of science and technology. Today however it is expanding ever more so into the real world.

Bicom Inc. has interests in the following scopes of the communications industry.

Bias & Rising Threshold Algorithms with Q-Learning
Big Data Analysis
Big Data Modelling
Human Linguistics
Lie Detection & Stress recognition
Machine Learning predictive
use and workflow patterns
Neural Networks for use in anticipating DDoS

If you have a project on Artificial Intelligence that could help how the world connects, communicates or collaborates, please reach out.

We will gladly reply with an NDA and continue our exchanges or alternatively, we could meet on the beautiful Island of Anguilla.
